Aurora
Aurora Aksnes (born June 15 1995, from Stavanger) is the name of a Norwegian artist and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by the label Decca Records in May 2015 getting great reviews from music bloggers and the media. The artist has already recorded two highly-profile cover songs Half the World Away by Oasis. Oasis in a commercial for Christmas by John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry, who endorsed the track Runaway with her voice, has given the song a boost of recognition. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music was discovering a grand piano in the attic. The piano was fascinating to her its capabilities. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to pursue music more as a hobby than as a job. To achieve this she started writing her own original compositions. Her sources include noted writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in addition to her affinity with Bjork's style. When her mother informed her that her music would not just help her get noticed, and also inspire others to see their value within the global community and see how they can benefit from them, she decided to begin singing in public. The piano was her first instrument when she was six, and she started writing music when she turned nine. She didn't tell her family about her musical journey until she was fourteen. Aurora did not have a set goal. Her sole passion is to write music. For her, music is the only method of feeling anything.
